YOU BELONG TO ME
International
WOW Company is proud to
present You Belong To Me, a whirlwind journey of territorial
obsession. The play delves into the last days of three
wars, spanning three centuries. Moving from a southern
Plantation at the end of the Civil War to the end of
the Nazi Holocaust, to the so-called “end of
major combat operations” in Baghdad, we follow
a single multi-ethnic family through several generations.
Filled with brutal laughs and tragic irony, You Belong
To Me is an intensely physical and musical rollercoaster
ride of love, betrayal and murder throughout the ages.
A soaring spectacle in its own right,
You Belong to Me, is the fifth installment of the Death
of Nations Project, an exciting and epic play cycle that
has been produced internationally. It is the product
of Mr. Fox’s extensive collaboration with Frank
Raddatz (former dramaturg to Heiner Müller) and
the Forum Freies Theater in Duesseldorf Germany, Rody
Vera of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Mr. Fox
directs an 11-member ensemble featuring noted German
stage star Irene Christ and downtown superstar Okwui
Okpokwasili (Maria Del Bosco, Roaring Girl) and International
WOW Core members Harold Kennedy German, Carrie Getman,
Rory Sheridan, Robert Saietta, Beau Allulli and features
the virtuosic singing talents of Beth Griffith and Elizabeth
Knauer.
