The Edge of Nature
A FEATURE-LENGTH DOCUMENTARY & LIVE PERFORMANCE

Scientists have come to call the first 6-8 months of the Covid Pandemic “The Anthropause.” During this time industrial fossil fuel pollution plummeted and for the very first time in history, world wide emissions were reduced enough to halt climate change. In the midst of the global shutdown, Josh Fox, who is suffering from neurological symptoms and cognitive damage from long covid, isolates himself in a one-room cabin in the hopes that his beloved Pennsylvania forest can heal him. During his nine-month seclusion, he confronts the legacy of genocide and intergenerational trauma that scars the land and his family. His co-stars are a tenacious group of beavers, a young bear mother, howling coyotes, and a ton of invasive honeysuckle.

Rebekah Jones: Whistleblower
A Feature-length Documentary

Rebekah Jones is the much-maligned, wild-child, brilliant data scientist who is Florida’s most prominent thorn in the side of Ron DeSantis. Desantis’ march to "reopen" Florida’s economy and suppress covid data caused tens of thousands of deaths in the state and influenced US and worldwide policy. Pushing repression of science and engaging in relentless right-wing culture warfare is Desantis’ modus operandi, and it begins with firing and attempting to silence Rebekah Jones. The film documents one scientist’s dizzying, imperfect, insane fight for truth in an increasingly dangerous political climate.

I recognized Rebekah Jones, someone who realized lives were being lost wrongly, and that she was being asked, as for others to falsify the circumstances for the political purposes of the Governor of Florida, at that point, she took it upon herself to tell the truth.

The Welcome Table
A FEATURE-LENGTH DOCUMENTARY

Floods, fires, droughts, mudslides. Famine, war, conflict. Every day another city is destroyed. People have to make the painful decision to leave their homes and seek a place of refuge. The United Nations predicts that 200 million to 2 billion people will be displaced by climate change in the coming decades. Where will everyone go? Governments across the world are building walls, but a wall is just a metaphor. A wall turned on its side can be a table. What if instead of keeping people out, we welcomed them? What if instead of building walls, we built longer tables? For six years, Oscar-nominated, Emmy-winning director Josh Fox has been tracking the story of climate refugees across the U.S. to the Caribbean to South America to Asia to Europe. In Fall 2023, we are building a long table. We are inviting climate refugees from around the world to sit down at a massive table together - to tell their stories, to eat, to sing, and to heal. The Welcome Table will be a testament to mutual aid, community, and welcoming - an example of the work we need to do in this climate-changed world. It is a gathering like none that has ever happened on the face of the planet. If we are going to survive the coming climate emergency we have to work together. Will you join us?

AWAKE. A Dream From Standing Rock
A Feature-length Documentary

The film tells the dramatic story of the historic #NODAPL native-led peaceful resistance at the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota, which captured the world's attention as one of the biggest stories of 2016. Tens of thousands of activists traveled to North Dakota from all over the world to take a stand alongside the "water protectors"-- activists opposing construction of the 3.7 billion dollar Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). The pipeline is proposed to transport fracked oil from North Dakota's Bakken oil fields directly underneath the Missouri River on sovereign Lakota land, the only water source for the Standing Rock reservation and the drinking water source for 17 million Americans downstream.

How To Let Go Of The World And Love All The Things Climate Can't Change
A Feature-length Documentary

In How to Let Go of the World and Love All The Things Climate Can’t Change, Oscar Nominated director Josh Fox continues in his deeply personal style, investigating climate change – the greatest threat our world has ever known. Traveling to twelve countries on six continents, the film acknowledges that it may be too late to stop some of the worst consequences and asks, what is it that climate change can’t destroy? What is so deep within us that no calamity can take it away? The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2016. GASWORK
45-min Documentary

One of the great benefits of oil and gas drilling, according to its proponents, is the creation of new jobs in the communities where drilling occurs. But many of these jobs are extremely dangerous, exposing workers to chemicals with unknown long-term impacts on human health. The fatality rate of oil field jobs in seven times greater than the national average. GASWORK investigates worker safety and chemical risk. It follows Charlotte Bevins in her fight for CJ’s law, a bill to protect workers, named for her brother CJ Bevins, who died at a drilling site. The film interviews workers who have been asked to clean drill sites, transport radioactive and carcinogenic chemicals, steam-clean the inside of condensate tanks which contain harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and have been told to do so with no safety equipment.

GASLAND Part II
A Feature-length Documentary

GASLAND Part II follows on three years later, to continue documenting how the stakes have been raised on all sides in one of the most devastating environmental issues rapidly spreading the globe. This sequel further enriches the argument that the gas industry’s portrayal of natural gas as a clean and safe alternative to oil is a lie, where in fact fracked wells inevitably leak over time, and vent exuberantly more potent greenhouse gasses such as methane in cumulative effect, not to mention the continued string of cases of severe water contamination across the United States and even cases as far away as Australia. Gasland Part II follows deeper into these happenings, revealing yet more of an entrenched corporate collusion in the pursuit of exploiting dwindling ‘natural resources’...

GASLAND
A Feature-length Documentary

The largest domestic natural gas drilling boom in history has swept across the United States. The Halliburton-developed drilling technology of "fracking" or hydraulic fracturing has unlocked a "Saudia Arabia of natural gas" just beneath us. But is fracking safe? When filmmaker Josh Fox is asked to lease his land for drilling, he embarks on a cross-country odyssey uncovering a trail of secrets, lies and contamination. A recently drilled nearby Pennsylvania town reports that residents are able to light their drinking water on fire. This is just one of the many absurd and astonishing revelations of a new country called GASLAND. Part verite travelogue, part expose, part mystery, part bluegrass banjo meltdown, part showdown.

Memorial Day
A Feature Film Drama

A wild Memorial Day weekend takes an unexpected turn in this brutally thrilling roller coaster ride through national obsessions. Josh Fox and a ferocious ensemble push the envelope of a war holiday gone wild. Beginning as a rowdy beach weekend video, Memorial Day twists and turns to find the dark hearts of young Americans who live to tape their most debauched adventures. The characters are thrust into full exposure, both physically and emotionally, to a place where self-exploitation and the exploitation of others give rise to a shocking new kind of entertainment. The camera creates a sphere of provocation wherever it goes, ramping up actions and pushing characters to a place of hyper-real catharsis. The film takes a major twist half way through, pushing the themes of the weekend to their extremes. Memorial Day premiered in competition at the CineVegas Film Festival at the Palms Resort in Las Vegas on June 15th, 2008.

DIVEST, The Climate Movement on Tour
A Film Documentary

As world governments struggle to meet the aspirational limit of 1.5°C of global warming agreed to at COP21 in Paris, a new campaign is targeting the fossil fuel industry in an effort to withdraw its social license to operate. DIVEST! chronicles 350.org's 'Do the Math' bus tour across the United States in 2012 as it launched the fossil fuel divestment campaign onto the national and ultimately international stage. Each night Bill McKibben and special guests laid out the findings in his landmark Rolling Stone article 'Global Warming's Terrifying New Math' and made both the moral and historical case for divestment. Three years later over 500 institutions representing over 3 trillion dollars in assets have committed to divest. The campaign is winning, but with the clock ticking down the question remains: will the victories add up enough to matter? Featuring Naomi Klein, Reverend Lennox Yearwood, Dr. Sandra Steingraber, Josh Fox, Terry Tempest Williams, Winona LaDuke, Desmond Tutu and Ira Glass.

A Film Documentary
